“OB/GYN Online (産婦人科オンライン)” and “Pediatrics Online (小児科オンライン)”, two online health care consultation services, were commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to provide free remote health care consultation to the entire stay in Japan.
What services?
These are services that allow you to consult an OB/GYN, pediatrician, or midwife from your smartphone. The best part is that it is always answered by an expert. They currently have 110 OB/GYNs, pediatricians and midwives.
It can be used by anyone in Japan from Friday, May 1 to Friday, June 26, free of charge because this project is commissioned by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI),
You must have a password to use it for free. Please enter the Japanese keyword “てをあらおう” when you register as a member.
“てをあらおう” means to “Let’s wash our hands”.👏
1. Real-time consultation by appointment.
You can get a 10-minute consultation in real time directly with your OB/GYN, pediatrician, or midwife using any of the video calls, voice calls, or message chats you like by using the LINE app. There are also English-speaking doctors.
Opening hours: 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm Weekdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Holiday: Saturday is a regular.
2. Talk to via message.
You can ask questions by message 24 hours a day through a contact form, and your OB/GYN, pediatrician, or midwife will answer your questions within 24 hours. It is possible to attach a photo.
Service hours: 24 hours a day, every day you can.
Note
* “Pediatrics Online (小児科オンライン)” accepts consultations regarding the health and parenting of children from newborns to 15 years old.
* “OB/GYN Online (産婦人科オンライン)” accepts not only pregnant women but also gynecological consultations and consultations from women who are hoping to become pregnant.

First, register as a member.
Enter your email address. You will receive a confirmation email immediately and click on the registration URL.

Register your membership information. There are no difficult items.
You can choose between a real-time consultation with doctor or a 24-hour email consultation.
On the Appointment page of the Real Time Consultation, the list of available doctors is displayed as above. Doctors who can respond in English will be indicated as “English OK”.
When you complete your appointment for Real Time Consultation, you will receive a confirmation email. Make sure to check it out. And then when it’s time for the appointment, connect yourself to the contact account or number on the confirmation email and start the consultation.

Why this project?
This online service is operated by Kids Public Inc. In the midst of a new coronavirus epidemic, doctors who are taking online consultations are feeling the impact of these.
*Some people are withholding medical attention because of fear of new coronavirus infections.
*Decrease in face-to-face support due to postponement of infant and toddler checkups and maternity classes.
*Doctors concern about increased domestic violence and abuse due to increased stay at home long time.
They consider pregnant women and children to be very susceptible to social stress and think about must now be focused on protecting them now. For these situations, gynecologists, pediatricians, and midwives can provide support via smartphones. Because it is difficult to leave the home now, online counseling is expected to serve as a safety net for society.
You can casually consult with them about your child and your concerns during pregnancy, such as deciding whether you should go to the hospital or not, as well as casual everyday questions and concerns. It does not prescribe any medication but It is a reassuring service, a specialist doctor will answer your concerns.
